Auto Glass Types & Materials

Laminated glass is made with two layers of glass bonded together with a protective inner layer. Most windshields use laminated glass because it helps provide structural support and is designed to stay together when damaged.

Most modern vehicle windshields are laminated glass. However, some vehicles may have different configurations depending on year, model, and location of the glass.

Tempered glass is heat-treated safety glass designed to be stronger than standard glass. When broken, it is designed to break into small pieces instead of large sharp shards.

Tempered glass is commonly used for side windows, door glass, quarter glass, and some rear windows depending on the vehicle.

Laminated glass uses multiple bonded layers and is commonly used for windshields. Tempered glass is heat-treated for strength and is commonly used for side and rear vehicle windows.

OEM vs Aftermarket Auto Glass

OEM glass is made for vehicle manufacturers during original production. Aftermarket glass is made by replacement glass manufacturers and is designed to fit and function as a replacement part.

Auto glass is carefully packaged using a variety of protective materials designed to reduce the risk of damage during transportation. This includes specialized foam, bubble wrap, paper, cardboard and more. We have developed the best shipping materials over the course of 20+ years.

Contact us immediately with photos of the packaging and damaged glass. We will work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

We currently do not ship internationally due to the complications of shipping glass.

Returns & Exchanges

Returns are accepted according to our return policy. The product must meet return requirements, including being unused and properly packaged.
