What's this for?

Sikaflex P2G Premium Primerless To Glass Urethane Adhesive Auto Glass Sealant

This part requires 2 tubes for installation.

A heavy-duty caulking gun is required and is not included.

Why the adhesive is needed

This glass uses adhesive to bond it to the vehicle's mounting surface. The bond secures the glass and helps seal the opening against water and air. Correct surface preparation and a continuous adhesive bead are essential.

Use automotive glass urethane specified for the installation, rather than household glue or general-purpose silicone.

Why NAGD recommends Sikaflex

NAGD recommends Sikaflex® P2G Premium as a reliable, professional-grade polyurethane adhesive designed for automotive glass replacement.

Sika reports testing according to FMVSS 212. Its high-viscosity formulation and primerless-to-glass adhesion are designed for direct-glazed automotive glass applications when used as directed.

Tools and preparation

A heavy-duty or professional caulking gun is required for this thick adhesive. Have the correct glass-removal tools, protective equipment, and surface-preparation materials ready.

Follow Sika's instructions for cleaning and preparing every bonding surface. “Primerless to glass” does not mean preparation or treatment of the vehicle's mounting surface can be skipped.

Curing and driving after installation

Sika lists a 3-hour minimum drive-away time for P2G Premium when used as directed. This is not a full-cure time. Follow the current product instructions, applicable conditions, and the vehicle manufacturer's requirements before driving.
